Modesto Airsoft
Modesto, CA Airsoft Group
MoAir Rules of Engagement
No Shooting Zone
The no shooting zone is to be set up where ever cars are parked. Airsoft weapons are to remain concealed in a container (bag/box) until we reach the staging area. Airsoft guns are not to be fired near or toward vehicles.

Cheating
Since there are no referees for games, Modesto Airsoft relies on the participants' honesty. Modesto Airsoft will enforce the following during instances of cheating by a player:
Every player has a right to complain to Modesto Airsoft Admins about cheating or violations of set rules. If three or more     players complain about an individual cheating, an Admin will issue a warning to that individual. If a fourth complaint is         recieved by a Modesto Airsoft Admin, the Admin(s) present may restrict the person accused of violating Modesto Airsoft         rules from participating in the day's event. Modesto Airsoft Admins have the final say on this issue.

For safety reasons, an Admin may ask a player to leave the game for repeated violations of the engagement distance assigned to them.

If players think that they might have been hit, they are to call themselves out. If a person calls another player out, the player called out must comply with his opponent's call regardless of whether they think that they might have been hit. Players are not to call people out if they know that they did not hit their opponent. It is a responsibility of a player to make sure that their opponent knows that they are out.

Bottom line: Do not cheat. Players asked to leave for breaking the rules risk getting labeled as a cheater (and nobody wants to play with a cheater).

Modesto Airsoft Gameplay Rules

1) Engagement Distance:

AEGS
Because people own airsoft weapons that differ in power, the minimum engagement distance is set at 20 feet. At this distance, a person with a stock AEG will still have enough power behind a BB for his/her opponent to notice that they have been hit.

    A) If a person gets below 20 feet from an opponent, he is given the option of calling out 'par lay' or to step back a few               feet before opening fire. Calling/Accepting par lay automatically sends both players to the respawn area.

    B) If a person gets closer than 15 feet from an opponent, he is given the option of calling out a "bang kill", offer par lay,             wait until the opponent is out to 20+ feet, step back until the player is 20+ feet away from the opponent, or switch to a         semi-automatic sidearm. A single person may call out bang kills on more than one member of the opposing                          team (one "Bang kill!" per player).

    C) If a person calls a "bang kill", "surrender", "par lay", or calls out his opponent -- regardless of whether the opponent             felt/heard a bb hit them or not, the opponent must honor his/her opponent's call.

    D) If a person is not sure that they will not hit an opponent's face, they must not take the shot unless their oppnent is 20         or more feet away and behind a bush/hiding place or if their opponent is more than 100 feet away.

SEMI-AUTOMATIC Sidearms
Semi-automatic sidearms have no minimum engagement distance.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles
A player using a single shot airsoft sniper rifle with a muzzle velocity of 401fps [w/.20g BB] or higher has a minimum engagement distance of 100ft. A player using a single shot sniper rifle with a muzzle velocity of 400fps or lower has a minimum engagement distance of 20ft (AEG distance)

2) What Counts as a "Hit":

    A) If a BB hits a player in any body part, they are to call themselves out.

    B) If a person's clothing/shoes/hat/gloves, or any other gear is hit, the player must call themselves out.

    C) Modesto Airsoft maintains that anything held by a player is an extension of himself. Therefore, if a player's weapon is              shot, he should call himself out.

    D) At times, a person might not know that they have been hit. If a fellow player sees that person get hit, they are to let               the person know that they are out. In addition, if an opponent calls a player out, that player must comply. The one               who calls an opponent out must be absolutely sure that they saw their opponent get hit.

*Players who are hit must call out "HIT!" as loud and as many times as possible so that their opponent(s) will know that the player is already out. Once a person acknowledges the hit, they are required to move out of the playing field and head directly to the respawn area (if applicable). People who are out of the game must not tip players from their team as to the location of the members of the opposing team.

3) Headshots:

There are times when the only part a player will see of his opponent is his opponent's head. It is at that player's discretion whether or not to take the shot. While headshots do count, it is not encouraged for safety reasons. Modesto Airsoft strongly recommends that players do not take head shots. Modesto Airsoft also strongly recommends that players wear full face masks (though not required). Every player must wear some form of eye protection!

Violation of these rules constitutes cheating and/or unsportsmanlike conduct and will be subject to penalty. Dishonest and unsportsmanlike cheaters are not welcome to Modesto Airsoft.

FPS Limits
Modesto Airsoft has set a maximum FPS for the following:
Any FULLY AUTOMATIC / SELECT FIRE capable AEGs, gas rifles, GBB, NBB, airsoft weapons have a 400.0 FPS limit with .20g BB's. (Except in the case of CQB, which imposes a 350 FPS limit.)

Any SINGLE SHOT "sniper rifle" whether it is bolt-action or an AEG (with the FULL AUTO / BURST capability fully disabled) has a 550.0 FPS limit. All gas sniper rifles must be chrono'd every hour and maintain a 550fps limit or below.

Modesto Airsoft will do thorough FPS checks before games (in most cases, weapons will be tagged to establish their qualification). Any airsoft rifle shooting consistently over the FPS limit is automatically disqualified for game play. The use of disqualified rifles may result in the player getting kicked out for the rest of the game(s) that day. Please be aware of your assigned engagement distance. Modesto Airsoft Admins reserve the right to chronograph any airsoft gun suspected of being more powerful than its designated FPS for its weapon class.

The Modesto Airsoft Rules are based on the highly successful rules of SacramentoAirsoft. (www.sacairsoft.com)

AMENDMENT I:
Engagement distances will be nonexistent for ~<325fps pistols/rifles in semi-auto. Snipers: a pistol should still be used in close-quarters situations unless the sniper rifle is ~<325fps.
